Linocut Print – Inspired by Namibian Wildlife
A linocut is a printmaking technique where an image is carved into a sheet of linoleum, creating a relief surface that is then inked and pressed onto paper. This traditional method allows for bold contrasts and expressive textures.
This particular linocut was created based on a wildlife photograph I took of two zebras in Namibia. The intricate patterns of their stripes and the striking composition made for an ideal subject to translate into a linoleum print.
